Our Guiding Pillars
🙏 God at the Center
Faith is at the heart of everything we do. God takes center stage because, well, he is God. We don’t get to choose where we place him. We only respond according to faith and ability bestowed by him. Our prayer is that he gives us faith to follow into purpose, integrity, and service. We remind ourselves that he will only act according to biblical principles and that there is a higher purpose behind every action.
[4] “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [5] You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. [6] And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
(Deuteronomy 6:4-6 [ESVS])
👨👩👧 Family as the Foundation
Our second calling is to our immediate family. Our desire is to invest into a way of life that can be passed down generation after generation. We believe strong families united around a common belief in God are the cornerstone of thriving communities. When families flourish, generations are empowered to carry forward values of unity and resilience. Some of our initiatives are in finding ways to do this and honor God’s creation at the same time. More on this in a blog post soon to be published, “Restoring Natural Habitat”.
📚 Education through Home & Community
We started thinking generationally as we pondered and discussed how to teach our children in an increasingly secular world. We believe that children should be educated by their parents first and foremost to love God.
(Continued from above) [7] You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. [8] You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. [9] You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
(Deuteronomy 6:7-9 [ESVS])
The Government Schools do not teach children to love God, nor do we believe that they should attempt any such endeavor as their track record shows they would pervert his holy word and teach heresy as an attempt to be all inclusive. We believe that the real issue is not a failing on the part of government but rather an overreach. One of our initiatives is to provide resources for families, homeschool groups, and church schools to educate their children. We have more to say on this subject in our soon to be published Blog Post , “Homeschool, Church-School, and the Government”.
🏘️ Neighbors in Community
This site and the initiatives we support are in order to share the things we have learned as we started changing our mindset of work and stewardship. Community can be a local group of people, or it can be a group connected through beliefs and common goals as is so prevalent today with online communities. We hope to develop an online community here, but we also encourage physical tangible connections to those who live around you.
[25] And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” [26] He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” [27] And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” [28] And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
(Luke 10:25-28 [ESVS])
Jesus goes on to say much more about this and has a much bigger point than the quote, but the point of including it here is that the lawyer answered correctly in his summation of the law. Jeremy will talk more about community support on the soon to be published blog post, “Sharing what I’ve learned while starting a business”.
